Hi,
I'm a long-time user of many OSS packages and am aware of the limited time you guys have. I just wanted to say that I've installed the stable version of Roundcube onto my Ubuntu Server and it is, quite frankly, absolutely fantastic. I've played aroud with Horde, Squirrelmail etc over the las couple of years and have found absolutely nothing which comes close to the fantastic look and feel and ease of installation and configuration.
I'm looking forward to using Roundcube and hope to contrib code/docs etc in the future.
Once again, well done on a truly excellent job!

…to block one speciffic sender of e-mails. AND tell that person I have blocked his/her ALL mails to my account.

This is mentaly ill person that keeps on sending me lots of information I've not requested. Actually it is a case for the police, but I am an entrepeneur, have 3 kids, a house, broken cars and a wif to catch up with. O…I forgot the cat. I just want to skip the sick person and not bather any more with the problem.

THAT feature doesn't exist in the solutions you offer. How do we solv this?

Why is it called "Roundcube"?

That is so silly and non-intuitive. As a matter of fact, it's very counter-intuitive.

A cube cannot be round. (It could be rounded, but not actually round.)

It is impossible to imagine such a fictional entity as well.

It is impossible to portray such a non existent thing, as is evidenced by the silly logo.

The logo portrays a cubic thing (not actually a cube there) that has either had a sphere stuffed into it, or a semi-sphere set upon it.

But it is definitely not a roundcube, whatever that is.

Why would you even need such a thing as a round cube? We have sphere's and circles to take care of that for us.

And even if you could conceive an object that would fill both a cube-shaped and sphere-shaped void at the same time, we wouldn't need that either, because we have silly putty, water, expanding spray foam, light and other neat things for that.

I really have problems saying, or even typing "Roundcube" because of the inherent retardedness of that "word".

As a result, it is also a challenge for me to use it as a mail client, which is sad, because other than the ill-conceived name it beats the other options hands down.

It's an excellent mail client, with a very unfortunate name. Hard to imagine someone having the resources to create the mail client, yet simultaneously capable of naming it "Roundcube".

BTW, I just got off the phone with a user that had checked her e-mail via RoundCube from a Wii. She said it works great, but it is almost impossible to type using the Wii controller, so she phoned me instead.

I know a user here has used a Playstation to do the same thing, but that wasn't surprising for me since I we had done some testing on the Playstation for web sites we develop .

No feedback to me on interface quirks using Playstation or Wii.

Way to go web standards, and congrats to the RoundCube team!

The script takes two arguments: the input file (thumbnail) and the output file name (.png). Of course the other hard-coded parameters such as image size and opacity could be provided as arguments too.

The input file is first flipped vertically and then cropped to the size of the mirror image. After that its alpha channel (opacity) is composed with a gradient image which is generated with a quadratic function. Finally we compose that gradient thumbnail with a transparent image using the given alpha value.

The world would be a much better place nowadays if there wasn’t wine and porn on TV that keeps the geeks from coding neat software products.

Hello everybody

First of all, these are NOT complaints. Just constructive opinions . I coded my first webmail in '97 and had tens of thousands of users until I gave it all away a while ago (after not coding anything for years) so I do know how it's all supposed to work.

These are not in any particular order. And I didn't read the code - I'm pretending to be an ordinary loser.

* The install was easy and config variables eerily reminded me of the ones in my own webmail....   Then again, I'm a long-time Unix administrator so pretty much anything is easy.

* After I log out, the first login after that always fails. Second one succeeds.

[DAMN! I spilled the wine]

* In the folder view the top buttons don't scroll but in the message view they do. A little consistency won't hurt.

* I have all my folders under ~/mail/. I first had imap_root=mail/ but then realized that some users had their folders in ~ (this is on a shared server with about 50 users). So I backed out to imap_root=''. I now have mail/INBOX in my folder list which won't go away (the folder doesn't exist).

* I have my sent emails in mail/sent-mail and I'd like to configure Roundcube to do the same.

* I had a REAL hard time opening emails. One click selects, but how the fuck do I open them? Web pages don't have a thing called double-click, so Roundcube shouldn't have one either. This was probably the worst of the problems.

* The icons... The icons you don't use are 32x32 while the icons you use most are 11x11, or practically unclickable. Yeah, I'm talking about Next and Previons message/page.

* What's the deal with having icons both in the top and in the bottom?

* Teh "Loadign" widow is in the top of the screen, not where you click. Clicking stuff doesn't alywas give immediate feedback.

* The icons don't describe what they mean. Textual explanation under them would be great.

* The "Print" icon launches a new window and the print window on top of that (Linux + Firefox). Why?

* Trash has the stop icon? WTF? I didn't know it meant "Move to trash" until I stopped on top of it. A major no-no.

* "Back to message list" icon hints "the previous message" which it isn't.

* Reply and forward icons look different (the envelope). Why? The action is the same, only to different recipient - the content should be same.

* The main Roudcube logo doesn't take me to the main page - whatever that is. People are used to clicking at the Big Logo Thingy to get back to where they started from.

* Address book should open the first contact automatically

* What's the deal between "view" and "edit" in address book? They are the same.

* Preferences / Folders lists ALL files I have in my $HOME. The default folder list doesn't.

* Hitting ESC while waiting for the above folder list to load makes the whole interface not work. Need to click "Back" on the browser to get the interface function again.

* Clicking Inbox doesn't give teh user any feedback - it just took me around 5 seconds between clicking and seeing any difference.
